THE END IS NOW - LAST JAR TOUR EVER

THE END IS NOW !!

Repent sad sinners ! Repent !! ... But fear not ... your last chance for a final redemption is at hand. This ain’t just another Farnsey-style farewell tour. This is it ! … for real !! The final … the ultimate … the one & only … the mother-freakin last ! The mighty BODYJAR are calling it a day for real. Melbourne’s own punk-rock reprobates ... not quite a force of nature, but close enough, have decided to dis-band.

For over a decade BODYJAR have experienced the complete gamut of rock … from playing to 3 people at the humble Tote Hotel, Collingwood to playing in front of 45,000 punters in Korea and selling out shows in Japan. They’ve been in the Who Weekly crossword, been referenced on "Neighbours", ignored by "Home And Away", and seemingly less importantly, ignored by Australian commercial radio … cos in the end the JAR still managed to pick up a couple of Gold Records along their way without any real support from mainstream radio. Guess there’s no fooling punters who know great music when they hear it.

Viva the underground !

BODYJAR had the privilege of producing numerous releases including two albums working with punk legends Bill Stevenson (Black Flag / Descendents) and Stephen Egerton (All), as well as working closely over many years with rip-snorting punk song-smith Phil Rose of seminal Aussie pop-punk band Nursery Crimes. BODYJAR also released albums internationally and locally on classic punk labels such as ‘Revelation’, ‘Burning Heart’ and ‘Shock’. US skate legend Steve Cabellero personally insisted that BODYJAR accompany his video parts in the Tony Hawk video game. Hell the boys even got to hang with the farewell king … Farnsey !

Make no mistake though, BODYJAR are one of the most respected punk bands in the world… the band can count amongst it’s fans members of Millencolin, Bad Religion, The Foo Fighters and NO FX. So why quit now ?

Front man Cam dissects the situation, "It’s been amazing. We've done so much stuff as a band … way more than we ever thought we would. As far as we’re concerned the last studio album Bodyjar made, our self-titled album, was the best of our career. It might not have sold the most copies, but it was brutally honest and it covered a lot of territory, musically and emotionally. It just feels like a good time to put a full-stop on it all. We wanna go out on our own terms. What better way to finish up than with a national tour where we crank out some old tunes one last time and say thanks to all the folks who have supported us over the years."

You don’t last long in the fickle Australian music industry without killer songs and great live performances ...and BODYJAR have consistently delivered the goods on pallets throughout their career… ‘One in a Million’, ‘Lights Out’, ‘Not the Same’, ‘Glossy Books’, ‘Fall to the Ground ’ etc etc etc…

You’d be mad not to pay your respects and imbibe yourself…

VIVA AUSSIE UNDERGROUND PUNK …. LONG LIVE THE JAR !

THE END IS NOW !!

To pay their respects, fellow hard rocking troublemakers 28days are staging a one-off re-formation to join The Jar for the Melbourne show and all Queensland dates. These shows will also be graced with performances by BEHIND CRIMSON EYES.

Jar frontman Cam reckons “ We’re stoked to be sharing the stage a few last times with both these bands. It should make for an awesome send off. BCE are a great bunch of blokes and we go way back with 28days … I’ll never forget standing on the footpath in Newcastle at 4 in the morning having just been woken up and evacuated from our hotel. There was us, 28days and no lying, the Wiggles …. in their skivvies !! Seems someone set off a fire alarm pulling bongs in the dunny. I had my suspicions … I mean what’s up with the skivvies at that time of night ? “
